Homemade Baby Food {Banana, Raspberry, Strawberry}

Yummy! I would like to eat it, too. One bite for Vivian. One bit for mommy.

Banana, Raspberry, Strawberry Puree

6 Bananas (organic/fresh)
6-8 Strawberries (organic/frozen)
1 cup Red Raspberries (organic/frozen)

Blend in food processor. You can use fresh fruit but I just use frozen as it's easier to find organic fruit in the frozen section. Plus, it lasts longer.

Then, spoon into ice cube trays and freeze. Makes about 4 ice cube trays. After completely frozen, I store in freezer bags. Then, when ready for a meal. I just thaw two cubes in the microwave for 30 seconds and mix with a little organic rice cereal. It's very easy and convenient.

2011 Goals

I usually jot down on a piece of paper everything I need to accomplish and scratch things out as they get done. But inevitably there are some things that just don't make the cut. So, I feel it's necessary to blog my goals to hold myself accountable. If I tell you I am going to accomplish it, then darn it, I will!

So on with my business and personal goals for 2011.

Business Goals

  1. New Branding - I need to refine my image to make it even more personal and more ME. I think I have evolved or matured since I started my business. So, it only seems appropriate that my branding evolve with me. I am already working on this, and I am so darn excited. I cannot wait to have it all done.
  2. Prove to myself that I can make this work - FULL-TIME. This does not mean I will be full-time but it's a step in the right direction. There are many, many different factors that contribute to that happening. I truly appreciate all of the support and encouragement I have received from clients, family, and friends.
  3. Design New Wedding Packets - Already working on this with graphic designer. It will be "green" of course and totally me.
  4. Blog consistently about recent work and personal happenings. This includes a new series about "Homemade Baby Food" and "Cloth Diapering: Say What?".
  5. Buy a new lens. Probably the 70-200 2.8L IS II USM.
  6. Restructure pricing for weddings and portraits. This includes creating packages for maternity and newborn and a year in the life of a baby. You have been asking for this, and I am answering.
  7. Hold a Marathon Boudoir Session in the Frederick, MD area. Again, you ladies are asking for this, and I am listening.
  8. Attend a Bobbi + Mike workshop.

Personal Goals

  1. Make a book of Vivian's journey from in utero to the cute, cuddly, fat baby she is today.
  2. Make a book of pictures from our Australia trip
  3. Make a book of pictures from Vivian's 1st 12 months
  4. Print Family, Maternity and Vivian's pictures to hang on our bare walls. It's so sad.
  5. Be more spontaneous. The dishes will get done eventually. This is hard for me, but I will give it an honest effort.
  6. Have family photos taken in the Spring.
  7. Throw an awesome 30th birthday party for the most wonderful husband ever.
  8. Go on a vacation with friends.
  9. Take a trip to Pittsburgh to visit K & C.
  10. Have a date night with J once a month and try for twice a month.
  11. Go camping.
  12. Skype with the Days' and the Marshalls on a regular basis.
  13. LIVE LIFE TO ITS FULLEST. I am living out my childhood dreams and I just want to soak it up with the people I love. Live, laugh, love.
And because every post is better with a picture. I leave you with who else? Vivian, of course!

You melt my heart...

As I said goodbye this morning to Vivian, she gave me the biggest grin and waved her hand just like a beauty queen with a little flick of the wrist. It melted my heart to leave her, but I know it's harder for me than it is for her.

Man, HOW I LOVE THIS KID!!!!

Alex {Leaving the Nest}

Back in November of LAST YEAR, yep all the way back in 2010 I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful, graduation senior.

Here's a small sampling of Alex's "leaving the nest" shoot. We had a blast, and I wish her the best in all her life endeavors. Alex, you made my job easy and so much fun. And you are gorgeous! I think these photos prove that and a natural in front of the camera.

I had to repost this becuase I WISH I had a photo like this from my senior year or in my wedding gown would do. :-)

Love this. So fun!

You are stunning!

The sun came out just in time for a beautiful sunset. Alex was such a trooper. It was FREEZING! But you wouldn't know it in this picture.

The word "darling" comes to mind when I see this picture. So innocent and sweet. Oh, to be 18 again. Nah, pass. LOL!

Full speed ahead but looking back for her families support....at least that's how I see it.

AYKM??!! You are gorgeous.

My family photos....from the Fall.

Back in October,Lori and Jon swapped family photo sessions with us. We take pictures of them and they take pictures of us. It works out like a charm. At least, I think so.

Vivian is 3 1/2 months in these photos....FYI.

Hello, canvas for Vivian's room!

She is winking which is so darn cute. Love it.

I love them ALL.

Thanks again Lori and Jon. We cannot wait to swap again in the Spring! Mwah!
