Leah Kate: Unleashed Bridals

Waaaaaay back in November, I met up with Leak Kate & Kyle to take some more pictures of her in her beautiful wedding gown. It was FREEZING! It made for some great snuggling and yummy hot chocolate after though. Not to mention the need for some great purple tights.

We wandered around her parents farm. And of course we had to take some pictures with the horses since that is and has been a huge part of Kate's life. Her parents (Lauri & Bill) give horse and carriage tours around Antietam Battlefield. Check out their facebook page.

Boudoir Sesesions!!! May 15th!

Leah (Grace) & Dave: Engaged!

This is only the second time I have photographed my sister. She has to schedule a session just like everyone else. Not to mention she is a registered nurse who works weekend, graveyard shift. Our schedules don't really mesh too well. Anyway, I was super excited to photograph my gorgeous big Sis.

Leah (Grace to me) and Dave met at the gym. :-) I suggested taking some pictures there between the treadmills where they like to run a crazy, insane amount of miles, but they said it was too crowded. So, I'm still up for it if anyone else is! lol

We went to the next place that they spend a lot of time running...the C&O Canal in Harpers Ferry. It was only appropriate that we take pictures in the place where their love started to blossom.

Let me just say that I am so damn happy for Leah Grace and Dave. I am sure I will be a mess at their wedding...a happy mess. I am so excited for you to join our family Uncle Dave! Love you both.

Cloth Diapering: Say What?! - Laundering

I had lots of questions after the last video post which led to this new installment about laundering your cloth diapers. Here is what I do to wash Vivian's cloth diapers. It is by no means the only way or the right way. It's just what I do and what I have learned over the past 8 months.

And more more thing I think will need some clarifying. When it comes to poopie diapers, breast fed baby poop is water soluble. So there is no need for rinsing or cleaning off excess poop before washing. However, that is not the case with formula fed babies and babies who eat solid food. So, you will have to either clean the diaper off with toilet paper and throw the poop in the toilet or install a sprayer beside your washing machine to remove the poop before you wash them. I have a wash tub beside my washing machine and I just spray the diaper off before I put it in the washer. It works good for me. If you are not good with gross, smelly things, cloth diapers might not be the thing for you.

Cloth Diapering: Say What?

I am not sure really where I am going with this new topic series but I wanted to give it a try. I always have people ask me about the cloth diapers I use for Vivian. So, I figured blogging about my experiences with them could help some people and answer some questions regarding myths and facts.

The diapers I use are all purchased from Cotton Babies. Of course, there are a bunch of other sites to purchase from, but this is my favorite by far and where I purchase everything.The a cotton babies website has a great section with information for first timers and a listing of all of the possible kinds of cloth diapers here. Check it out if you are interested in learning more.

I use BumGenius brand. Of course,there are other brands as well, but I like BumGenius One-Size Stay-Dry with SNAPS. The velcro is okay but I prefer the snaps as it gives me more control over how the diaper fits around the legs and waste. And with a fat legged baby this is essential.
